Corsair K100 Review (Author’s Choice) (Amazon’s Choice)

Corsair K100 Review - Best Keyboard for League of Legends

If you have ever come across any gaming article or review, chances are that you have heard of the name Corsair. Well reputed among gamers for manufacturing some of the best gaming equipment and peripherals, Corsair keyboards are some of the best ones.

Design and Ergonomics

Exhibiting a full-size keys layout. The Corsair K100 offers all the standard keys you see on the keyboard along with multiple macro programmable keys and tons of multimedia controls. In my opinion, the K100 is more geared towards gaming setups and home use.

The keyboard comes with a detachable or removable wrist pad that to my experience offers quite the comfort while gaming. The wrist pad is nothing that special but it does the job. You can also remove it to save space on your desk.

Coming to the quality of the keys, they are made of PBT plastic except for the macro keys which are made of ABS plastic. The build quality felt top-notch and the plastic body with the metal top plate adds to the overall sturdiness of the product.

As for ergonomics, the keyboard is pretty light considering its size and comes with a two-step incline setting for better adjustability. The bottom side of the keyboard reveals grippy rubber feet for more stable performance during gameplay.

Multimedia and Programmability

What makes this keyboard different from most of the traditional gaming keyboards on the market is that the K100 is specifically made for all the RPG and MOBA gamers who need tons of easy access to macro capabilities and functions.

As such, the keyboard comes with extra features including 6 dedicated macro keys all numbered from G1 through G6 and arranged vertically on the left edge of the chassis. To add the cherry on top, the keys are fully programmable through the Corsair iCUE software.

On the top-right edge of the keyboard are the multimedia buttons like next, play/pause, previous, and stop and also including a volume scroller, all of which are also programmable.

The top-left corner features another set of buttons and wheels which Corsair likes to call their iCUE wheel allowing you to use tons of different functions like zoom in, zoom out, etc. with just a single tap. Again, all of them are also programmable as per your wish.

When it comes to gaming keyboards, mechanical switches are always the way to go for each and every gamer. The Corsair K100 comes in two variants that you can choose from each featuring different mechanical switches.

The standard K100 by Corsair comes with Corsair OPX optical-mechanical switches and is a great option to go for if you want sensitive keystrokes with linear travel with minimum actuation. A great steal for unmatched gaming performance.

On the other hand, the other K100 model comes with the industry-standard Cherry MX switches. The Cherry MX Speed mechanical switches are not my personal favorite but they do allow for a faster activation speed with a shorter travel distance than other switches.

Although both the switch types are excellent, the OPX switches from Corsair came out to be a bit better than I expected. If you are a Cherry MX fan then the other option is quite good for office use as well thanks to the quiet activation.

RGB Lighting and Extra Features

Some good RGB lighting is a must when it comes to having a new gaming mechanical keyboard. Not only enhancing the overall look of your setup but also giving it that added flair is worth the price.

The Corsair K100 features individually lit RGB keys along with more than 40 RGB zones on the top, left, and right panels of the keyboard chassis. Opening the Corsair iCUE software reveals tons of patterns, color combinations, and effects to choose from.

The iCUE software also lets you save and switch between 200 profiles each with different key settings and RGB lightings thanks to the huge onboard memory on the K100.

Finally, the support for Elgato Streaming Deck means that the K100 is also a keyboard that is great for streamers and professional gamers allowing them to control streams, music, and other tasks with minimal effort. Considering all that you get from this keyboard, we can, without a doubt, say that it is the Best Gaming Keyboard for League of Legends!

Key Features

  • Full-size keyboard layout with dedicated multimedia and macro buttons
  • Comes with options between Corsair OPX mechanical switches and Cherry MX Speed
  • Features a removable wrist wrest made of memory foam for maximum comfort
  • Excellent build quality with metal top plate and keys made of high-quality plastic
  • Customizable RGB lighting with tons of other features using the iCUE software

Logitech G910 Orion Spectrum Review (Best Budget Wired Keyboard)

Logitech G910 Orion Spectrum Review - Best Budget Gaming Keyboard for League of Legends

Logitech has always been a manufacturer that is highly reliable in all types of situations. Whether you need gaming accessories and products or just peripherals for your office PC, they always deliver. Introducing the G910 Orion Spectrum, a fine keyboard for gamers.

Design and Build Quality

The looks of the keyboard are pretty standard with a full-size layout, perfect for home desktops and gaming setups. Weighing in at 1.5 KG, it is not the lightest keyboard but is definitely lighter than most of the other full-size gaming keyboards.

The G910 Orion Spectrum features an integrated palm rest which means you can not remove it to save more space on your desk. Since it is made of plastic, the comfort it provides is somewhat subpar.

In terms of the build quality, I was a bit disappointed because the entire chassis of the G910 is made of thin plastic. The keys are flat unlike the G910 Orion Spark and the keys are also made of the same low-quality plastic which means more oil marks and fingerprints.

The ergonomics of the G910 Orion Spectrum is not that great either, since the keyboard only offers one-step inclination adjustment and the wrist rest is non-detachable. The keys feel a bit wobbly but considering the price, I will let it slide.

Multimedia and Macro

The macro capability aspect is the only place where the G910 Orion Spectrum shines the brightest. Packing dedicated macro keys for the ease of the user and tons of multimedia buttons for quick access and control, this keyboard is truly made for gamers.

In a game like League of Legends where so many things happen on the screen in the blink of an eye, macro keys are a must. Thankfully, the G910 Orion Spectrum features 9 dedicated keys called Logitech G-Keys which are completely macro programmable.

The left edge of the keyboard chassis features 5 G-keys and the top-left corner has 4 more arranged horizontally. Accessing the Logitech G-HUB software gives you complete access to these keys and what they do.

Apart from the G-Keys the keyboard also has 4 more macro programmable keys numbered M1 through M4 right beside the top 4 G-keys. As for multimedia, the top-right corners offer play/pause, stop, next, previous buttons, and a scroller for volume control.

Mechanical Switches

While I expected a standard mechanical gaming keyboard to have Cherry MX switches, the G910 Orion Spectrum comes with Romer G-tactile switches which is a bit more likely since the keyboard costs under the hundred dollar price tag.

While most gamers prefer a linear switch like the Cherry MX Red, in my personal opinion, a tactile switch with a bump like with the Romer G is more suitable for MOBA and MMORPG gamers where keyboard feedback is necessary.

The feels of the keystrokes are quite similar to keyboards with MX Cherry Brown switches but the travel distance is a bit shorter which might be beneficial to some but might also cause many unnecessary keystrokes.

Unfortunately, you can not opt for a model with a different mechanical switch which is a bummer since different gamers have different choices. Nonetheless, the typing quality feels not that bad and should not be a problem while gaming.

Other Features and Backlighting

Seems like Logitech got their priorities wrong with this particular model of the keyboard since, while the overall build quality seems OK, the RGB lighting on the G910 Orion Spectrum looks amazing and it pairs well with the rest of my gaming setup.

Although accessing the G-HUB software offers hundreds and hundreds of lighting effects and patterns there is no dedicated key or switch on the keyboard to turn off or change the brightness settings of the RGB lighting which is a bit of a letdown.

Even so, the actual lighting is quite good and manages to shine through the legends on the keycaps without much bleed and again, all the lighting on the keyboard is completely customizable using Logitech’s G HUB software.

The G910 Orion Spectrum also comes with some nifty features including an ARX dock for your smartphone situated on the upper edge of the chassis. The ARX support allows you to see your game stats on the fly for supported games.

Key Features

  • Features 9-G Keys and 4 other dedicated macro programmable keys for
  • Comes with a built-in non-detachable wrist pad/rest
  • Houses Romer G-tactile switches for ultimate gaming performance
  • Full-size layout with a sturdy plastic build
  • Breathtaking RGB lighting and supports ARX docking

Razer BlackWidow V3 Mini Review

Razer BlackWidow V3 Mini Review - Best League of Legends Keyboard

Not all keyboards are built the same, some gaming keyboards are made for a stationary gaming setup while the rest are geared towards gamers who are always on the go. As such, a lighter and smaller keyboard is great for such instances, and hence the BlackWidow V3 Mini.

Design and Ergonomics

Razer is one of the only computer equipment manufacturers that is solely dedicated to making products for gamers of all types. Good build quality and an excellent sturdy design are the first things that one should expect from a Razer product.

First things first, out of the box, the Razer BlackWidow V3 Mini Hyperspeed looks very nifty and tiny. The 65% layout design is particularly great for people who like to carry their keyboards with their gaming laptops while traveling.

A 60% means that the keyboard only retains the keys that are important while gaming, thus making it weigh in at 0.7 Kg. The small frame, lightweight design, and tiny form factor make this keyboard my personal favorite when it comes down to portability.

While most mid-range gaming keyboards use a metal top plate, the BlackWindow V3 has a metal base plate made of aluminum while the rest of the chassis is plastic. The 4 rubber feet, dual incline adjustments and good ergonomic puts this keyboard in my top 3 picks.

Macro Capability

Since the Razer BlackWidow V3 Mini Hyperspeed is meant for portable setups, the 65% layout has its own limitations. A fewer number of keys means there are no dedicated keys for programming macros and no multimedia keys on this device.

However, Razer took care of this problem by allowing customization for all the keys on the keyboard. In simples terms, it allows per-key programmability. Using the Razer Synapse software you can assign macros and secondary functions to any key you like.

The keyboard also features a dedicated key for enabling Game Mode which disables the Windows key and Alt+F4 command to avoid any interruptions during gameplay sessions. This feature is also customizable in the Synapse software.

Unlike other top-tier mechanical gaming keyboards, Razer does not use MX Cherry switches for their flagship keyboards. Instead, the BlackWidow V3 Mini Hyperspeed comes with options between Razer Green and Yellow mechanical switches.

The model that I got had the Green switches which are similar to the MX Cherry Blue and Green switches since the Razer Greens have a tactical bump and also a clicky keystroke for fulfilling feedback even during the most intense gameplay.

Although I find clicky switches a bit distracting due to their sounds, the feel and response of the switches are great and I would definitely recommend it to gamers who prefer such switch type.

The other variant comes with Razer Yellow Mechanical switches which are the exact opposite of the green ones. These are more like the Cherry Speeds with a linear actuation and a faster travel distance for quick inputs.

Wireless Capability

In terms of connectivity, the BlackWidow V3 Mini Hyperspeed is one of the most versatile keyboards that I have ever seen. The keyboard comes with 3 ways in which you can connect it to your device and it also supports multi-device pairing.

You can use the keyboard in a standard method by hooking it up to your PC or laptop via a USB Type-C cable or you can connect via Bluetooth. The latter option I would not recommend for gaming since Bluetooth connectivity has a significantly higher latency.

The third option is what Razer calls the Hyperspeed Wireless technology which is nothing but a 2.4 GHz wireless connection that you can establish using the provided dongle by plugging it into your gaming PC or laptop’s USB port.

As for the battery life, Razer claims that a completely charged BlackWidow V3 lasts up to 200 hours which sounds pretty good and a dedicated button on the front edge of the keyboard allows you to toggle among the wired, Bluetooth, and 2.4 GHz modes.

RGB Lighting

Just like any other Razer product, the RGB lighting on this keyboard is absolutely spectacular, especially with this model, the Phantom Edition of the BlackWidow V3 Mini Hyperspeed has pudding keycaps with translucent sides to allow more light to shine through.

Powered by Razer Chroma RGB, each key is individually lit and the Razer Synapse software allows you to select and pick from a plethora of lighting patterns and effects if you do not want to customize them to your liking yourself. Hands down, the Best Wireless Keyboard for LoL.

Key Features

  • Features a 65% keyboard layout with Doubleshot ABS plastic pudding keycaps
  • Comes in two switch options – Razer Green and Razer Yellow Mechanical switch
  • Supports 3 ways connectivity – Bluetooth, wired mode, and 2.4 GHz mode
  • Comes with per-key macro programmability

Logitech G915 Review (Best Wireless Keyboard)

Logitech G915 Review - Best Wireless Keyboard for League of Legends

Here comes the second Logitech keyboard entry in the list, the G915 Lightspeed Wireless. While the G910 is quite a hefty keyboard, the G915 is its successor with countless improvements like the better build quality and wireless support.

Design and Build Quality

As far as the design of the Logitech G915 TKL goes, the keyboard, as specified, displays a TKL or TenKeyLess design which means it has basically a standard layout just without the Numpad section. A smaller frame means greater portability and more desk space.

However, even with the TKL design, the Logitech G915 TKL is quite large and weighs in at 1.7 pounds which is still light enough to be easily carried around in a backpack wherever you want. Unfortunately, there is no included wrist rest for a more comfortable experience.

In terms of the build quality of the product, I really have no complaints about Logitech. They pretty much nailed it with the metal top plate and bottom plastic build. Anyways, the board still has a bit of flex due to the keyboard chassis being a bit slim.

The keycaps feel premium since they are Doubleshot and made from high-quality ABS plastic. The only downside is that you are going to see many oil marks and fingerprints on them. Most of the keys feel stable except for the spacebar feeling a bit too wobbly.

There is not much to say about the ergonomics of the keyboard, everything just feels fine. The Logitech G915 TKL comes with two incline adjustment settings and rubber feet to keep the thing stable during intense gameplay sessions.

The only downside in this aspect is the absence of wrist rest. Nonetheless, you can easily buy one from any tech store for a few bucks.

Multimedia and Macro

Featuring an outstanding set of multimedia and macro keys, the Logitech G915 TKL is one of the best keyboards one can get for playing MOBA and MMORPG games like League of Legends.

Moving to the top right of the keyboard chassis, one can find a volume roller and a set of four media keys including next, previous, play/pause, and mute. Fortunately, the Logitech G Hub software allows you to change these buttons to do whatever you want.

The Logitech G915 TKL does not come with any dedicated macro buttons but if you want then you can opt for the standard G915 that has them. However, the top let of the chassis has 4 buttons to switch between connection modes and control the RGB.

The only bad thing about this keyboard I could find is that it does not support per-key programmability which means you are only limited to the few media buttons which is kind of a bummer, to be honest.

Wireless Capability

Let us come to something this keyboard is absolutely good at, shall we? The keyboard features multi-device connectivity which means you can switch between different devices which is really versatile and handy in many situations.

Obviously, the Logitech G915 TKL can be connected to your gaming computer or laptop in wired mode using a USB cable. In wireless mode, the device can either connect via Bluetooth or you can use the dongle provided in the box for better wireless performance.

Bluetooth has a significant input delay which is not at all good for gaming and hence the 2.4 GHz connection which Logitech calls Lightspeed Wireless Technology is your safest bet since there is little to no lag.

As for the battery life of the Logitech G915 TKL, it is supposed to run up to 30 Hrs on a single charge as claimed by Logitech and there is a battery indicator on the top edge of the chassis just to let you know.

Switch and RGB

In the switch department, Logitech has started to integrate its own set of mechanical GL switches into its flagship keyboards. The Logitech G915 TKL also comes equipped with the GL mechanical switches just the low-profile version of the same.

Compared to MX Cherry Low Profile switches the GL switches are quite similar which I did not expect. The model of Logitech G915 TKL which I got was equipped with GL linear switches which I compared to Low profile Cherry MX Reds.

If you prefer a different type of switch then you can also opt for the other types of GL switches including GL clicky and the GL tactile which is the equivalent of MX Chery Browns and MX Cherry Blues respectively.

The RGB is pretty much the same as any other Logitech G series gaming mechanical keyboard. Featuring Logitech’s own Lightsync RGB technology, the G HUB software lets you mix and match colors and effects to match and sync with the rest of your system.

Key Features

  • Available with 3 different switch types – GL Linear, GL Clicky, and GL Tactile
  • Equipped with multiple media control buttons and a volume scroller
  • Supports multi-device connectivity including Bluetooth, wired, and Lightspeed mode
  • Solid design and build quality with Logitech LightSync RGB system

ROCCAT Vulcan TKL Review

ROCCAT Vulcan Review - Best League of Legends Gaming Keyboard

A less known gaming equipment manufacturer, ROCCAT has been growing in popularity among the most avid gamers due to their unique products with surprisingly good gaming performance and quality. Introducing the ROCCAT Vulcan TKL.

Might not be the best keyboard ever made but the ROCCAT Vulcan TKL surely brings some nuance to the design aspect. Out of the box, the ROCCAT Vulcan TKL showcases a very basic but sleek-looking chassis with a TKL layout.

Again the TKL form-factor seems to be the perfect choice of gamers since most never need the Numpad section for anything. Other than that the keyboard has all the alphanumeric keys and arrow keys that are necessary during gameplay.

The build quality feels excellent with a brushed aluminum plate on the top and a plastic base and body. The keycaps are made from high-quality ABS plastic and only cover the top part of the keycaps. The exposed sides of the keycaps allow more RGB action to shine through.

The underside is equipped with rubber feet that allow just the right amount of grip to keep the keyboard in place when the gameplay is getting intense. The absence of an included wrist rest means you do not get the added comfort.

Weighing in at 1.5 pounds, the keyboard is quite lightweight and very portable and you should have no trouble carrying it around in a backpack. The chassis is very thin which means it takes up even less space whether it be your desk or your bag.

The ROCCAT Vulcan TKL only has one incline setting, enabling which renders the rubber feet underneath useless and this is the only flaw that I could find in the ergonomics of the keyboard. The keyboard connects via a Type-C detachable cable.

Multimedia and Macro

While the ROCCAT Vulcan TKL does not have any dedicated keys to trigger macros and functions, a few keys can be programmed to have a secondary function. Only the T, G, B, and ‘5’ keys are macro programmable through ROCCAT’s Swarm software.

The four macro-capable keys can only be used during game mode which can be enabled using Fn + Scroll Lock key combination. Another feature called the Easy-Shift function lets you add another set of macros over the already programmed keys.

As far as the multimedia keys go, the ROCCAT Vulcan TKL has several media hotkeys and the functions are labeled as well. The top right of the keyboard chassis is equipped with a mute button and a volume knob to control the volume of streaming music and videos.

The ROCCAT Vulcan TKL is available in two different mechanical switch configurations. The one I have came with the ROCCAT Titan Linear Switches equipped underneath the keycaps. The other variant comes with the ROCCAT Titan Tactile Switches.

For the most part, the Linear switches do the job quite well. A short travel distance and a silent keystroke all fall under my requirements and these switches provided just that. The responsiveness feels quite fluid and there is not much delay in actuation.

The tactile switches as far my guess goes are somewhat the water-downed version of MX Cherry Browns and judging by the quality of the Linear Titan switches the tactile switch should also perform well.

While typing, the low-profile keycaps paired with the switches performed quite well and the curved contour plays a really big part in comfort. Although wobbly keys are a bad sign, the spacebar and the other larger keys felt a bit stiffer than they should.

RGB and Software

Just as I previously stated, the keycaps are a bit unique with them covering only the top of the switches and having exposed sides. This is done so that the RGB looks outstanding and trust me, it absolutely looks stunning.

The ROCCAT Vulcan TKLcomes with individually lit keys thus each and every aspect of the RGB element is customizable. There is minimal light bleed and accessing the ROCCAT Swarm software reveals tons of presents and effects that you can choose from.

The software is really versatile and not only allows you to customize the RGB lighting but also set Macros and a secondary layer of macros to the four dedicated keys. The lighting is powered by ROCCAT’s AIMO technology which syncs to the other RGB lighting on your gaming setup.

All in all, a pretty good choice and is arguably the Best League of Legends Gaming Keyboard is you prefer wired ones over wireless.

Key Features

  • Equipped with ROCCAT Titan Mechanical Switches (Comes in Linear and Tactile Switch options)
  • Unique keycap design with TKL layout
  • Features Multimedia hotkeys and macro capability
  • Excellent build quality with a slim low-profile chassis

Razer Huntsman Tournament Edition Review

Razer Huntsman Tournament Edition Review - Best Keyboard for LoL

Everything about the Razer BlackWidow V3 Mini Hyperspeed Phantom Edition is great except for the price point which is a bit too high for some. Moreover, the wireless capability is of no use to those who prefer wired gaming keyboards.

As such the Razer Huntsman Tournament Edition TKL stands out as the perfect option.

Design and Ergonomics

First of all, the Razer Huntsman Tournament Edition TKL is super lightweight. With a weight of just 1.6 pounds, it is one of the lightest gaming keyboards around. The dimensions are pretty low profile and hence easily portable in a backpack.

Then again, just like the Blackwidow TKL, the Razer Huntsman Tournament Edition also comes in a TenKeyLess layout thus making it very compact. A tenkeyless design also means fewer keys that otherwise take up a lot of space on your desk.

The ergonomics of the Huntsman Tournament Edition TKL is just fine too. It comes with two incline settings and the base of the keyboard has rubber feet to keep it stable even during the fiercest battles while playing League Of Legends.

Build Quality

Coming to build quality, Razer has always been reliable for manufacturing top-notch products. Hence, the Razer Huntsman Tournament Edition TKL has pretty good durability and sturdiness thanks to the aluminum top plate and the plastic base.

The thing that I liked the most about the keyboard is that it uses double-shot PBT keycaps instead of cheap ABS plastic. PBT keycaps mean you do not have to worry about leaving fingerprints and oil marks every time you type on your keyboard.

Higher quality plastic does not only mean more durability but also minimal flex. The keycaps do not feel wobbly except the spacebar. There is no provided wrist rest with the keyboard and I do recommend getting one for a better gaming experience.

You can pair this champ up with some of the Best PC for League Of Legends to make an excellent gaming setup.

The high-quality optical-mechanical switches used in the Razer Huntsman Tournament Edition TKL seem to be the main selling point of this keyboard. Equipped with Razer’s own Linear Optical Switches, the keyboard is truly a beast for pros as well.

Razer claims its optical switches to be the fastest among all other mechanical switches. Having a short travel distance and a 1 mm actuation, the keystrokes felt blazing fast for me which is what you want when playing competitive games like LoL.

Rated at 100 million keystrokes, while typing, the keys felt highly responsive but caused some unnecessary keystrokes when pressing the keys fast. The idea with the optical-mechanical switches is that they are more sensitive to your keystrokes than your regular mechanical switches.

One downside of the switch aspect is that the Razer Huntsman Tournament Edition TKL only comes with Linear Optical Switches and hence if linear switches are not your jam then I would recommend getting a different keyboard with perhaps clicky or tactile switches.

Multimedia and Macro

This might be a bummer to many but the Razer Huntsman Tournament Edition TKL does not come with any dedicated macro keys or multimedia buttons to make the keyboard TKL. The function keys arranged on the top row all have predefined functions to control media.

Although the lack of dedicated macro keys might seem like a problem, fortunately just like the BlackWidow V3 Mini, each and every key on the Huntsman Tournament Edition TKL is macro programmable and can be assigned to have secondary functions.

Opening up the Razer Synapse software brings out the true potential of the keyboard. From assigning macros to programming hotkeys, you can also save up to 5 profiles in the onboard memory of the keyboard which you can switch between at any time.

There is also a dedicated Game Mode to disable all the possible interruptions by turning off the Windows Key or any other key you want.

RGB Backlighting

The backlighting on this keyboard is flawless just like any other premium Razer gaming keyboard. The per-key illumination means that you can customize the color and effect of each and every key that you see on the keyboard.

The only complaint I have is that while typing in the dark, the RGB lights seem a bit dim even at full brightness but at this point, it feels like nitpicking.

Key Features

  • Equipped with Razer’s Linear Optical Switches for the best gaming experience
  • Comes in a TKL size to save desk space
  • Supports per-key macro programmability and has integrated hotkeys
  • Per-Key RGB illumination that is fully customizable

Corsair K55 PRO XT Review (Best Under Budget)

Corsair K55 PRO XT Review - Best Budget Keyboard for LOL

The last keyboard on this list is another Corsair product. There is always a need for cheap but somewhat good performing gaming equipment in the market for all the budget gamers out there and hence Corsair came up with the K55 RGB PRO XT.

Design and Build Quality

Showcasing a full-size keyboard layout, the Corsair K55 RGB PRO XT is most definitely a travel-friendly companion. Weighing in at 1.9 pounds, the keyboard is quite large and takes a bit more space on the desk than one would like.

Since the Corsair K55 RGB PRO XT is keyboard-oriented towards budget gamers, the keyboard is completely made from plastic. The front plate and backplate are made from plastic that still gives it good rigidity and there is little to no flex when I tried to bend it.

One thing to note is that the glossy finish of the chassis is highly prone to fingerprint and oil marks and so are the keycaps that are made from cheap ABS plastic. Moving to the underside of the keyboard you can find rubber feet or pads that keep it stable on the desk.

Corsair claims that the Corsair K55 RGB PRO XT is spillproof and comes with IP42 water and dust resistance rating. Although I did not test this I can still guarantee a little spill of water or your energy drink won’t short the keyboard in any way or whatsoever.

There is not really much to speak about the ergonomics of the Corsair K55 RGB PRO XT since it is cheaply made to cater to the ones looking for a budget gaming keyboard. However, the K55 does come with a single incline adjustment setting.

For added comfort while gaming, the K55 also comes with a detachable palm rest in the box. The thing is not the best as it is a bit short but it surely does the job and offers you a better gaming experience.

This is where things start going downhill for the Corsair K55 RGB PRO XT. The keyboard is priced under fifty dollars and one can not really expect mechanical key switches from a reputable manufacturer.

Nonetheless, the Corsair K55 RGB PRO XT comes with the typical rubber dome switches which are basically membrane switches with a dome for better actuation. Not the best choice for gaming but considering the price it is more than one can ask for.

As far as my experience goes with this thing, the typing felt a bit off since I rarely use membrane keyboards. The switches are a bit hard to press to avoid typos but this, unfortunately, makes your fingers tire out quicker than mechanical keyboards.

Multimedia and Macro Capabilities

This is where the Corsair K55 RGB PRO XT shines the most in spite of being a budget keyboard. The keyboard comes with a multitude of multimedia hotkeys and dedicated macro keys that can be programmed according to your needs and liking.

The left edge of the chassis is equipped with 6 dedicated macro keys numbered G1 through G6. Opening up the Corsair iCUE software allows you to add functions and program macros to trigger in-game actions with just a single press of a button.

On the top-right next to the LED indicators are situated the media control keys including

mute, volume increase, and volume decrease buttons, and below which are four more buttons for play/pause, next, previous, and stop which are really handy in all situations.

There are also a windows lock key and another key to change the brightness settings of the RGB lighting on the keyboard. Probably the Best League of Legends Keyboard you can have if you are a budget gamer.

RGB and Software

The one thing that the Corsair K55 RGB PRO XT has in common with all the other high-end Corsair gaming keyboards is the quality of the RGB lighting. The keyboard features dynamic per-key RGB backlighting unlike the K55 RGB and RGB PRO.

Even with the per-key RGB lighting, there are only five lighting zones which means you can not customize the color on every key. Opening up the iCUE software gives access to tons of lighting effects and presets and even dynamic sync with a few games.

Moreover, you can save up to six different profiles at a time each with different lighting settings, keybindings, and macros. The keyboard also allows you to configure the polling rate of the keyboard which is basically the responsiveness.

Key Features

  • Offers 6 dedicated macro keys and multiple multimedia hotkeys
  • Per-key RGB illumination with 5 customizable RGB zones
  • Comes with high-quality rubber dome switches
  • Full-size layout with a good quality build

How to Choose a Gaming Keyboard for League of Legends (LoL)

How to Choose a Gaming Keyboard for League of Legends (LoL)

Switch Type

The type of switch that your keyboard is equipped with is probably the most important aspect when getting a keyboard for LoL. There are mainly three types of switches with mechanical switches being the obvious choice for most gamers.

Rubber Dome/Membrane Switches

These switches are the most basic and you can find them in probably any new office keyboard. Most budget gaming keyboards come with these switches but are infamous among gamers for having a subpar feel to them.

Scissor Switch

Every laptop that you see daily is most probably has scissor-type switches. These switches are generally used in low-profile keyboards for making them portable.

Mechanical Switch

These types of switches are the holy grail of gaming keyboards. Almost every flagship keyboard from reputable manufacturers like Logitech, Razer, Hyper X, and much more use these types of switches. These switches are available in many different varieties and each has a different characteristic.

  • Tactile Mechanical switches like the Cherry MX Browns have a tactile bump that indicate if the key has been pressed or not. Maybe not the favourite among most gamers but still better than a regular key switch.
  • Linear switches do not have a bump or click like the tactile and clicky switches. MX Cherry Reds and other Linear switches are the most famous among gamers for their consistent and smooth keystrokes which are helpful in gaming.
  • Clicky switches are probably the loudest among all the others. When pressed, these mechanical switches make a clicking noise.

Design and Macros

Doesn’t matter if you have the Best League of Legends PC, if the build quality is crap it won’t last long. The same is the case with keyboards. When you buy one make sure that it at least has little to no flex or maybe an aluminum front plate to make it durable.

One thing to remember is that keycaps made from PBT plastic are more durable and better in all aspects compared to ones made from ABS plastic.

Macros and Multimedia options are always there on gaming keyboards even if there is no dedicated key for it. Since this list is for keyboards for LoL, getting a keyboard with a plethora of macro options is the safest way to go.

RGB Lighting

It’s all up to preferences!

You won’t most certainly find a gaming keyboard on the market that does not have any RGB lighting on it. Since RGB is not everyone’s cup of tea, make sure you get a keyboard that at least has a button to turn it off when not necessary.

Conclusion – Which is the Best Keyboard for LOL?

While you might have a great Gaming PC with the best graphics card, a good gaming mouse, a keyboard is also important and should not be neglected.

Most of the keyboards on this list are a fine choice as long as it fits your purpose. If you are trying to build your setup, you can find my list for the Top Gaming PC for League of Legends.

All in all, everything boils down to what things you want and what you do not. I hope the buying guide and the reviews for some of the Best Mechanical Keyboards for League of Legends help you to select your perfect keyboard and, keep gaming!
